Range - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, the term range refers to the difference between the highest and lowest values in a set of data. It helps us understand how spread out the results are. For example, if you are looking at the heights of different plants in an experiment, the range is found by subtracting the shortest plant’s height from the tallest plant’s height. A large range means there is a big difference between the smallest and largest values, while a small range means the values are close together. Understanding range in GCSE Biology helps students analyse data and draw conclusions from experiments.
