Type 1 Diabetes is a medical condition where a person’s pancreas does not produce insulin, a hormone that helps control blood sugar levels. Without insulin, glucose cannot enter the body’s cells to be used for energy, causing blood sugar levels to become too high. This type of diabetes usually starts in childhood or adolescence and requires regular insulin injections to manage blood sugar levels. People with Type 1 Diabetes need to carefully monitor their diet and blood glucose throughout the day to stay healthy.
