Midpoint - GCSE Maths Definition

The midpoint is a point that is exactly halfway between two other points on a straight line. If you have two points, A and B, the midpoint is the point that divides the line segment AB into two equal parts.
To find the midpoint, you take the average of the x-coordinates and the y-coordinates of the two points. In other words, you add up the x-coordinates, divide by two to find the average, and do the same with the y-coordinates. The result gives you the coordinates of the midpoint.
This concept is useful in geometry and graphs, and it helps you to understand how points are arranged on a plane.
