The y-intercept, or y-axis intercept, is the y coordinate of the point at which the graph of a curve or line crosses (intercepts) the y-axis.
The y-intercept can be found from the equation of the graph of the curve or line by substituting x = 0 into it. ?understanding the y-intercept allows common graphs to be identified easily, and/or sketched quickly.
