Nuclear transfer is a scientific method used in cloning, where the nucleus, which contains the DNA, is removed from the body cell of an organism and inserted into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. This process creates an embryo with the same genetic material as the original organism. The technique is important in studying genetics and development, and it was famously used to create Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell. Nuclear transfer helps scientists understand how cells function and how they can develop into different types of tissues or even an entire organism.
