Language is a system of communication used by people to express thoughts, ideas, and feelings. It consists of words and rules for combining those words into sentences. Language allows us to share information and understand each other.

In psychology, studying language helps us learn how we develop the ability to speak and understand others, how different languages can shape the way we think, and how language can influence our culture and behaviour. Language is not only about spoken words but can also include written text, sign language, and body language.
