Unlike GCSE resits, A Level resits are typically only available during the main summer exam series, which runs from May to June each year.
There is no dedicated November resit window for A Levels. Therefore, if you're planning to retake your A Levels, you'll need to register for the summer 2026 exams.

What is the deadline for A Level resits?
The deadline for entries for summer exams is around February each year. Exam boards haven’t yet released their exact deadlines, so check with your sixth form or college for further information.
When is A Level resit results day 2025?
If you’re sitting your A Level resits this summer, you’ll get your A Level resit results on A Level results day with all other A Level students.
A Level results day falls on Thursday 14th August 2025.
If you’re sitting your A Level resits in summer 2026, your A Level resit results day is likely to fall on Thursday 13th August 2026, but this is yet to be confirmed.
