What is examined in the CIE A-level business Paper 1?
This paper is focused on AS Level syllabus content and is called Business Concepts 1
The paper's duration is one hour and fifteen minutes
The total number of marks available is 40
Paper 1 represents 20% of the qualification total
It is made up of two sections
Section A
Section A contains four compulsory questions of five marks each
You must answer all questions
The first three questions have two parts that can include
Define questions, worth 2 marks
Explain questions, worth 3 marks
The fourth is an analyse question, worth 5 marks
Section A does not include a business context, but the question stem may refer to a particular type of business, industry or business circumstance
Section B
Section B contains two questions of 20 marks - you will answer one question
These are essay questions and have two parts
An analysis question, worth 8 marks
An evaluation question, worth 12 marks
Section A does not include a business context either, but the question stem may refer to a particular type of business, industry or business circumstance, or may provide a quotation to which you must respond
