Let's look in more detail at the types of question in Section B, and how to achieve top marks.
Section B: listening
Section B is worth 8 marks at Foundation tier and 10 marks at Higher tier
It involves dictation - writing down exactly what you hear in French
You will hear each sentence three times - once at normal speed, once in short sections with pauses, and once at normal speed again
At Foundation tier, the dictation task will be around 20 words long and you will hear four short sentences
At Higher tier, the dictation task will be around 30 words long and you will hear five short sentences
At both tiers, the task will include two words which are not on the AQA set vocabulary list
Tips for success
It is important that your spelling (including accents) is as accurate as possible
Use the two minutes at the end of the exam to check this carefully
Although it is very useful if you recognise the words and know what they mean, it doesn't matter if you don't
You just need to use your knowledge of phonics and grammar to write them correctly
