To be able to talk about your future plans for studying, the near future tense is essential. Let’s look at it in more detail.
Near future
The near future tense is used to express ‘going to’ when talking about future plans
Use the present tense form of the verb ir with the preposition a, then add an infinitive
Spanish | English |

vas | you are going (informal) | ||
va | he / she is going | ||
vamos | we are going | ||
vais | you are going (plural or formal) | ||
van | they are going | ||
Add no in front of the form of ir to make negative sentences:
No vamos a estudiar las matemáticas
We are not going to study maths
No van a aprobar los exámenes
They are not going to pass the exams
