This summer, around 5 millions of students will pick up their GCSE and IGCSE results. Did you know that if you’re one of those students, you can also pick up tons of free stuff on GCSE results day? You’ve earned it, so read on to find out how to easily take advantage of these one-off deals.

At Save My Exams, we know just how hard you’ve been working, and we’ve sourced the best offers to help you celebrate for less—f From takeaways, and to free pizza with your mates, to a fancy dinner on the cheap with your folks, there’s lots up for grabs.

If you’re an IGCSE student, these promotions are only available to UK students receiving their IGCSE results on 21st August 2025, which aligns with GCSE results day. While it’s best to check with each restaurant, IGCSE students should be able to enjoy the same deals as their GCSE peers celebrating on the same day.

If your IGCSE exam board is Cambridge International (CIE), you may miss out on these offers, as your results will be released earlier (19th August). This doesn’t coincide with GCSE results day, so unfortunately you may not get to take advantage of these deals.

How to claim your freebies on results day

Read on to discover the tips and tricks that will score you a deal at your favourite restaurant on results day.

Follow restaurants on social media

Follow your preferred restaurants on their social media. Often, restaurants leave it quite late to announce their results day deals, so getting organised and deciding which deals you want to go for in advance can really pay off. Just hit that follow button and check in nearer the time.

Take relevant documents

Remember to bring your results, student ID or proof of age with you! Most of the offers ask you to flash those results and some of them request another form of ID too.

Download apps or codes in advance

Find out if you need to download an app or a code in advance so you don’t ruin that celebratory mood trying to do it on your phone at the last minute. Some of the deals, like the ones offered by TGI Fridays, require a bit of extra effort.

Check terms and conditions

Remember to check out the terms and conditions on the restaurant’s website. Lots of them ask for a small minimum spend to access the deal, but last year it was possible to get a free pizza and coke at Frankie & Benny’s with no spend at all. If you’re an IGCSE student, it’s also worth checking with the restaurant first that their GCSE offer can be extended to IGCSE students. Cheers!

Check out existing student discounts

Finally, remember that your student status often entitles you to big discounts every day—just check your favourite restaurants and brands’ websites to find out more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get results day freebies if I didn’t pass?

Yes! The chains offering GCSE results day freebies want to put a smile on your face, whether you’re celebrating or commiserating. Even if you didn’t get the results you wanted, you can still enjoy the perks of results day.

And remember, there’s plenty of support available to you. Check out our advice on GCSE resits if this is something you may be considering – but for now, enjoy some freebies!

Do I need my results slip to get free stuff?

As mentioned, most of the restaurants and eateries offering results day deals will expect you to show some form of student verification. We’d always advise taking your results slip, your student ID and some other form of proof of age ID just in case. If you’re an IGCSE student, you’ll likely be accessing your results online, but your electronic statement of results should still serve as proof.

Just check in advance with whichever chain you’re hoping to visit!

Are these offers available outside the UK?

Unfortunately not. These deals are only valid in the UK. If you’re studying internationally, it’s worth checking with your local branches to see if they’re offering any similar promotions for IGCSE results day.
