Viele Jugendliche verbringen ihre Freizeit sehr unterschiedlich.
Manche gehen gern aus und treffen Freunde in der Stadt.

• If you are unsure, eliminate the options you know are wrong and make your best guess - a blank answer scores zero

2. aus (separable prefix of ausgehen goes to the end)

4. Verein (nominative singular after in einem)

• For each gap, think carefully about what type of word is missing - is it a verb form, a noun, or a prefix?

• For verb gaps, check the subject of the sentence carefully: ich, er/sie and wir all take different endings

• For separable verbs, remember that the prefix always goes to the end of the sentence in the present tense - this is what questions 1, 2 and 5 above are testing directly

You are writing a post for a German online forum about hobbies and free time.

Write approximately 90 words in German. You must write something about each bullet point. Describe:

• Your hobbies and what you enjoy about them

• A hobby you have done recently

• A hobby you would like to try in future and why

In meiner Freizeit beschäftige ich mich gern mit Musik, da ich sehr gern in einer Band spiele. Wir treffen uns zweimal pro Woche und wir machen gemeinsam Musik.

Letzten Monat hatte ich die Gelegenheit, ein Konzert einer bekannten Band in der Stadtmitte zu besuchen, und ich habe mich sehr darauf gefreut. Die Stimmung war einfach fantastisch und es war eine tolle Erfahrung.

Obwohl ich mich sehr für Kunst interessiere, habe ich im Moment leider nicht so viel Zeit dafür, da ich viel für meine Prüfungen lernen muss. In der Zukunft habe ich jedoch vor, häufiger zu malen, um mich zu entspannen.

In my free time I enjoy occupying myself with music, as I really like playing in a band. We meet up twice a week and make music together.

Last month I had the opportunity to go to a concert by a well-known band in the city centre, and I was really looking forward to it. The atmosphere was simply fantastic and it was a great experience.

Although I am very interested in art, I unfortunately don't have much time for it at the moment, as I have to study a lot for my exams. In future, however, I plan to paint more often in order to relax.
