About

  • Fabio is a learner of English turned English as a foreign language teacher, writer, editor, and author. Since 2015, he has taught English to thousands of students from all over the world. He has worked in  New Zealand, Ireland, and at the British Council in his home country, Italy.

  • Fabio has collaborated with Cambridge University Press & Assessment to develop the We Love IELTS blog, where he authored study guides, articles, and educational resources for both IELTS test‑takers and teachers. His connection to IELTS is personal as well. He took the test in 2012, when he was an intermediate learner of English.

  • Since 2021, he has been working as a writer and editor for education brands, publishing houses, and high-traffic language learning blogs such as  StoryLearning.Currently, he’s one of the main contributing writers at English Language Gazette, an international news and media outlet for the English Language Teaching industry.

  • When he’s not working, he manages the Tiny Book Writer’s Room,  a small community of aspiring nonfiction authors who want to publish a short, useful book. Outside of work, he trains in Taekwondo, reads nonfiction, goes for runs, writes on his blog, and creates videos for his YouTube channel. If you email him, he’ll reply. Fabio is the author of:

  •  Any Language You Want: 18 Conflicting Lessons for a New Kind of Language Learner, a self-published collection of his own personal stories about how he learned English. Each story tells you the best way to learn a language, but every story disagrees with the next. The book received the endorsement of Scott Thornbury, one of the most influential figures in the field of English Language Teaching.

  • Will AI Improve  Your Life? — a short e-book for advanced secondary and young adult learners of English. The resource was published by Oxford University Press, the largest university press in the world.

  • Tiny Book Author: There’s a Tiny Book in You Waiting to Be Written, a self-published book for aspiring authors. Fabio likes to define it as “a tiny book to help you write your own.”

Education

Fabio holds a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and a Master’s Degree in Professional Development for Language Education from the University of Chichester. The title of his master’s dissertation is An Investigation into the Use of ChatGPT for Assisting Self-Editing in Creative Writing Among Online EFL Writers. He completed it with Distinction in 2024.
