What Is Save My Exams?
Save My Exams is an online revision platform that helps IGCSE, GCSE, A Level, IB and AP students prepare for their exams. It combines a library of revision resources with AI-powered study tools.
Students gain access to revision notes, exam questions, past papers and mock exams. A Premium membership adds AI tools that mark your answers, explain where you went wrong and suggest what to revise next.
Everything on the website is made by trusted examiners, and is matched to your exact specification. On average, students improve by 2.6 grades using Save My Exams.
What Is Revisely?
Revisely is an online platform that lets you create AI-generated revision resources, such as flashcards and quizzes. Students and teachers also use it to summarise documents, notes or videos. The AI technology creates clear, structured overviews to help you review and retain information.
Along with letting you generate your own material, Revisely also has some pre-made resources for many GCSE, AS and A Level subjects. Resources include exam board and specification-aligned notes, videos and past papers. Notes come from different school or exam board websites, as well as Revisely’s own files. Videos, meanwhile, come from different YouTube channels. A Pro upgrade adds features like creating unlimited flashcard decks, quizzes and notes.

Revision Notes and Content Quality
Save My Exams features clear, comprehensive and exam board-aligned content. Using simple definitions, diagrams and worked examples, revision notes break down lengthy specifications into student-friendly topics. Unlike many textbooks and other revision resources, you’ll only revise content you could be examined on. You can use revision notes in combination with flashcards, exam-style questions and past papers.
Alongside existing resources, Revisely includes flashcard and quiz makers, an AI notes generator and AI video summariser. I uploaded a glossary from my introductory Tess of the d’Urbervilles class, and I was impressed with the flashcards it generated. Rather than just having key terms and definitions, they were tailored to English Literature. For example, ‘describe a flashback in storytelling’ is better than ‘flashback’ (which could prompt a psychological rather than literary definition). The quiz I generated, which was based on a video I made on Genesis 2-3 in The Simpsons, was also good. However, it was a little repetitive, as two questions were on God’s omnipotence (just worded differently). Fortunately, you can edit AI-generated content to fix these kinds of issues.
All Save My Exams content is written and checked by subject specialists. Revisely, on the other hand, relies on users checking AI-generated content, so resource quality can vary.
Exam Board and Specification Coverage
A key strength of Save My Exams is its exam board-specific approach. Resources are organised by qualification, subject, exam board and topic, so you won’t waste time revising unnecessary content. Notes are tailored to individual GCSE, IGCSE and A Level specifications.
Revisely also provides exam board-aligned resources, but coverage varies significantly. For example, AQA GCSE Biology resources include past paper questions by topic, videos and flashcards. However, other Biology exam boards and subjects (such as A Level English Language) only have past papers.
Practice Questions and Exam Technique
Save My Exams has various ways of improving exam technique, including exam-style questions, mocks and past papers. You can use mark schemes and examiner reports, like those for AQA GCSE English Literature, to check your answers and avoid mistakes. All students have free access to the Learning Hub. You’ll find subject-specific guidance here, as well as tips on how to improve your exam technique.
Alongside its AI-generated materials, Revisely provides past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports for exam preparation. Some subjects also have example responses taken from exam boards, as well as notes and videos.
Personalisation and Study Support
Save My Exams personalises your revision through tools such as Smart Mark, Strengths & Weaknesses, Target Test and Study Planner. Together, these features help you identify knowledge gaps, prioritise weaker topics, and build a more structured revision plan.
Revisely lets you select which courses (e.g. AQA GCSE History) you’d like to add to your dashboard. You can also edit flashcards and quizzes you’ve created, allowing you to tailor your learning to your own needs and preferences.
Ease of Use and Student Experience
Save My Exams works well on smartphones, tablets and laptops alike. You can easily navigate between different levels, exam boards and subjects, which is ideal when you’re juggling revision for multiple GCSEs or A Levels. I tell my students to use the past paper library, as it labels everything more clearly than exam boards themselves!
Revisely can also be used on multiple devices. I found the Dashboard clear and well-organised, and you can also create custom colour-coded tags for your resources (e.g. red for flashcards you’re struggling with, and green for ones you know well). I did, however, encounter two broken links while browsing the revision resources. Paper 1: Lord of the Flies from AQA GCSE English Literature sent me to a Bicester School page with an internal server error. Similarly, a Germany revision guide link for AQA GCSE History sent me to a ‘page not found’ error on another school website.
