• Tonekia has over two decades of experience in education, developing effective teaching and learning strategies. In 2022, she was awarded Doctor of Education (Ed.D)

• During her time in education, Tonekia has held several roles that have involved training educators in best practices in AP US History, sharing innovative teaching strategies with other educators, and working in classrooms successfully managing the needs of a diverse range of students.

• Tonekia has worked for over 15 years as an AP History workshop consultant, where she fosters collaboration among educators and shares innovative teaching methods for the AP course.
