Role-play

• The role-play is worth ten marks

• It will last between 1 and 1.5 minutes at both tiers

• The role-play involves a conversation between two people, and your teacher will play one of them

• You will be given a context and a topic (e.g. 'you are speaking to your Spanish friend about hobbies')

• There will be five bullet points in English telling you what to say in Spanish

• One of the bullet points will tell you to ask your teacher a question

• Each response must include a verb

• One-word answers are not sufficient

Foundation tier

• Each bullet point will require one piece of information

• You will only need to use the present tense

Higher tier

• Two bullet points will require one piece of information

• Three bullet points will require two pieces of information

• You will need to use the present tense plus one additional tense (past or future)
