Read Text A and Text B in the insert and then answer Section A, Question 1(a) and 1(b).

1(b) Write a letter to a friend, advising them on whether and how to apologise to a colleague for missing a meeting at work.

Use your own words to write your letter based on what you have read in both Text A and Text B.

In your letter you should:

  • evaluate the ideas about apologising given in both texts

  • explain why your friend should or should not apologise, and how to deal with the situation at work

Write about 250 to 350 words.

Up to 10 marks are available for reading and up to 25 marks for writing.
